Throughout my time practicing freelance photography, I’ve usually been commissioned for senior portraits, which I have a true passion for. Obviously though, I want to branch out and dip my toes into some unknown waters for the pure enjoyment of challenging myself.
I am finally getting the opportunity to be doing some things I’m totally not used to this year, such as Elyse’s maternity shoot.
Elyse and I have known each other well, my entire life. We grew up across the street from one another and were super close as children. You know, the typical Barbie playtime we all had; that was what we enjoyed most.
As soon as I found out Elyse was expecting, I knew I had to take these portraits of her. Thankfully, she was just as pumped as I was .
Seeing someone I know so well go through the journey of becoming a mother is something so dear to my heart, and I’m so thankful she gave me this opportunity.
Elyse, you are magnificent and are 2015’s best mother.
